Molopo Energy's South African projects are located in Free State Virginia and Free State Evander.
In South Africa, Molopo has recorded what is believed to be the first onshore gas reserves in that country. This initial reserve certification estimated 3P reserves of 112 BCF, 36 BCF of 2P. Reserve certifiers also estimated a total Contingent Recoverable Resource of 815 BCF for the area reviewed.
Molopo commenced the drilling of three shallow exploration holes at the Virginia project in South Africa that have been designed to assist in the identification of gas migration pathways. Production testing of mineral core holes continued with production steady at between 0.9 and 1.0 million standard cubic feet per day ("MMscf/per day"). A PLA ("production licence application") is now being contemplated in conjunction with review of commercialisation options.
