Installing hinged wardrobe doors is easy. It’s all about using the right tools and preparation, followed by a bit of patience.
One thing you must do is prepare your bedroom space before you start, so that it’s clear for when you need to use it. You also need to make sure there are no obstacles in the way of the hinged wardrobe doors, such as windows or window sills.

STEP 1: Measure the dimensions of the opening where you’re going to install the hinged wardrobe doors. Decide how tall you want the hinged wardrobe doors to be.
STEP 2: Once you have the measurements, buy hinged wardrobe doors that are slightly larger than those measurements (about 1/2 inch on each side). This will allow for a perfect fit and no gaps between the hinged wardrobe doors and your bedroom walls.
STEP 3: Set the hinged wardrobe doors down in their proper place, flat on the floor or carpeted surface. Make sure they are aligned with your opening, and take measurements again to double check that the width is correct.
STEP 4: Mark where you will be drilling holes for screws/nails with a sharpie marker. Drill holes for screws (if you do not have a drill, use nails and a hammer). If holes are not pre-drilled, the hinged wardrobe doors might move or could crack. Use drill bits that match the size of your screws/nails.
STEP 5: Place the hinges on both ends of the hinged wardrobe doors. Some hinged wardrobe doors might come with hinges already attached so this step is not necessary. If yours do, skip to STEP 7 .
STEP 6: Attach the hinges on both sides of your hinged wardrobe doors. Make sure you line up the predrilled holes and screw in screws tightly. Do not over tighten the screws as it may cause the hinged wardrobe doors to crack.
STEP 7: Lean your hinged wardrobe doors against a wall and measure the distance between the hinge and where it meets with the wall. Mark where you will drill holes for nails or screws into that wall. Use a level as a guide to make sure they are straight before marking them. Drill those holes with a drill or nail and hammer.
STEP 8: Stand your hinged wardrobe doors up straight and screw nails/screws into the walls where you have drilled them in. Make sure they are very secure so that the hinged wardrobe doors do not fall on someone’s head!
Final step: Have fun decorating the inside of your hinged wardrobe doors!
Good luck with your own installation of hinged wardrobe doors. If you do not feel ready or confident, hire a professional to install them for you while you supply the hinges and all other materials.
